What we do
Everyday care for dogs and cats in south Salem, from the first round of vaccines to the special diet years later.

Wellness exams & vaccines
A regular exam is the best way to catch small problems before they become big ones. Dr. Helwig checks your pet nose to tail, keeps vaccines up to date and talks through diet, weight and behavior with you.
- Nose-to-tail exams
- Puppy and kitten vaccines
- Adult boosters
- Flea and parasite advice

Sick & injured pets
Pets can't tell us how they feel, and their bodies are small. A big change in behavior, or eating and drinking much more or less than usual, usually means it's time to see the doctor. If your pet has an accident, call us at (503) 362-5233 right away: we may ask you to bring them in then and there.
- Sick visits as soon as the schedule allows
- Accidents and injuries
- Suspected poisoning

Drop-off appointments
Drop-off appointments make sure your pet gets the care they need while you're somewhere else. When you can, it still helps to be there: you can answer the doctor's questions, hear the instructions first-hand, and your pet feels better with you close by.
- Drop off on your way to work
- We call with an update
- Pick up later in the day

Prescription diets & supplies
We stock prescription pet foods made for patients with digestive problems, plus hypoallergenic shampoos, flea treatments and other medical supplies. Call ahead and we'll have it ready.
